THE MILLER

Henning Andersen

1917 – 1944

Henning Andersen married Marie Mathilde Svendsen on 30 May 1940. They had two daughters: Jytte and Lissy. Henning bought the mill in Hvidsten in 1942.

During a conversation with Andreas Stenz at Hvidsten Kro in the summer of 1943, he mentioned his resentment of the Germans. Stenz was the first to be contacted by Marius Fiil concerning illegal activities as a member of the Hvidsten Group.

Henning joined the group shortly after that conversation receiving parachutists, weapons and explosives.

He was arrested by the Gestapo on 17 March 1944, when they made mass arrests one week after their initial visit to Hvidsten. He was sentenced to death by a military tribunal on 26 June 1944.
