THE RADIO DEALER
Niels Nielsen Kjær
1903 – 1944
Niels Kjær was a qualified radio mechanic, selling radios from his own shop in Hvidsten. He was single, and willed his house to his cousin, Johan Kjær Hansen's wife Rigmor, whilst Søren Kristensen's wife Agnes also inherited money from him.
Niels voluntarily joined the Hvidsten Group. He visited Kristensen's house one day, where he met Agnes and asked about her husband's activities. He was then contacted by the group and began to help with weapon drops.
He was arrested on 17 March 1944 by the Gestapo, who were making another mass arrest one week after the first one in Hvidsten. He was sentenced to death by a military tribunal on 26 June 1944.
