THE HVIDSTEN GROUP FORMS

By March 1943, parachutist Ole Geisler and estate owner Flemming Juncker from the Overgaard Estate, were building a resistance group based in the Randers area. On the night of the 12th of March, a group from Randers took delivery of weapons and explosives dropped from a British bomber at Trinderup, near Sem Hede.

Under Geisler's command, the group organised collection of the drop, and the items were hidden in the plantation. The next day, transport was needed to get the weapons and explosives to Randers. Dr Thorup Pedersen and Ole Geisler therefore visited Marius Fiil at Hvidsten Kro, who agreed to help with Gudrun's consent. They took the items to Andreas Stenz’ farm in Hvidsten with the help of a haulier from Mariager.

From there, they were taken in Thorup Pedersen's car to Randers, where they were distributed and used for sabotage throughout the country. Some of the explosives from the Hvidsten Group were used to sabotage the railway bridges at Langå, the biggest act of railway sabotage committed during the war.
